how far could I run . . .
to some other galaxy
you’d be waiting there

there is something about galaxies today.. i too have used the word in my poem.. hmm.. interesting
But as long as I am being awaited somewhere, by someone, I am always ready to run!
Well written, R..
haha Nice comment, Kavita. I need to get over to your blog to read your galactic poem! :)
Galaxies has always fascinated me….and how wonderful that would be Robert…? :) x Brilliant writing x
Thanks, Amanda… Yes, I’m “sort of” a geek. haha I have a telescope. There’s too much light pollution in the city, now, but I can still see a few things. No galaxies.
Many years ago, my friend and I took my previous telescope up to the family cabin in the Rocky Mountains of New Mexico. The skies there are fantastic. No light pollution there, especially 30 years ago. It was just great! We could even see other galaxies! Obviously, I’ve never forgotten that. And New Mexico advertises itself as the Dark Skies state.
You can take vacations there, and stay at places where they have various sorts of lodgings available – from cabins to just places to pitch a tent. These places have telescopes to rent, from not too big to HUGE telescopes.
Of course I hope to take such a vacation someday! haha Well, you weren’t expecting such a reply to your comment I guess. It was just on my mind.
WOW!!!! Really?!?!?!? This sounds amazing, Robert…
Even as a kid, I used to LOVE going to Planetariums, Space museums and the likes… the universe (that we don’t know of) really presents an enthralling picture!!
I also still have a keen interest…used to have one back in South Africa but even now, when the weather permits, (which is often here in Oz) I would go outside, lay on the daybed and watch the stars. I remember how wonderful the sky looks on my holidays in the game reserves….could stare into neverness forever!! I love your reply:) :) :) Fascinating stuff x
