Dreams are our escape, and yet, not all dreams are what we’d like them to be. Nice haiku.
Yes, dreams can be our escape. Unfortunately, I’ve been going through a period of nightmares for about the last 6 months or so. I’ve never experienced this before.
I’ve had a nightmare or two here and there, but never a period when I had them often. They have mostly abated now, but there for a while I was having them almost every night. That was not too great…
I wrote a haiku or two about it. Maybe I’ll write some more about this “subject” and that one. Because like you said, dreams are usually our escape.
All kinds of dreams.
spot on with this one, as evidenced by comments already received
definitely strikes a chord with me in my current state – good job!
I guess so! This is an instance of the mental debate in which the changes won out. At first I had the third line written “too bad it wasn’t”
I decided that wasn’t working like I wanted. What do you think? I don’t think I’ll change it, but I might post it like that on another blog, just for fun…
O how to hit a raw nerve, Haiku Dude!!! ( I hope you don’t mind if I still call you HD–if you do please let mee know). O I can think of more than a few dreams I’d like to be REALITY.
I’m still haiku dude! lol This haiku seems to speak to some people, and that’s a good thing.
Don’t know if it makes any sense here but your Haiku reminded me of a line I read in a book long ago:
“The old dreams were good dreams; they didn’t work out, but I’m glad I had them.”
Thanks for sharing…..you made me think….
Alethea, What a nice line you remembered! I’m glad my haiku reminded you of it :)
I like this. But, of course you know the famous curse:
“May all your dreams come true”
Yikes.
lol! Funny… and not quite. Thanks, Teresa. I thought this haiku might get a comment.
And it seems to be stirring up my brain for more.
